On July 9th, the exhibition of South Asian Dinosaurs was launched in Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum (FPDM), Japan. The head of Fukui county, the mayor of Katsuyama city, Mr. Feng Fei, the secretary of Zhejiang Museum of Natural History (ZMNH), China, and representatives of museums from Thailand and Laos made speeches successively. There were other members participating in the opening ceremony, i.e. Dr. Jin Xingsheng, deputy curator of ZMNH, Ms Wang Qiongying, and related personnel from Japan, Thailand and Laos.
The exhibition of South Asian Dinosaurs was particularly made to celebrate the 15th anniversary of creating and building FPDM. The display was sponsored by FPDM and coordinated by ZMNH. This exhibition, lasting from the early Jurassic to the end of late Cretaceous, includes not only seven large-scale dinosaur skeletons, but also fossils of other dinosaur skeletons and fossils of ichthyosaur and other fishes. It must be attractive and influential due to such a great scale and novel design. There were 24 groups of collections from Zhejiang province. The exhibition will last till October 12th.
